Her Excellency Dr Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairperson of the Committee on Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance in Sports, praised the achievements of Bahrain’s female champions at the 6th Arab Women’s Clubs Games, held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, from 2 to 12 February 2026, where they secured a total of nine medals: four gold, two silver and three bronze.
This came during Her Excellency’s reception of the champions at the Bahrain Olympic Committee headquarters on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.
Her Excellency Dr Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa affirmed that this accomplishment is an extension of the achievements and successes attained by the sports movement in general, and women’s sport in particular, under the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the backing of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as the interest of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King of Bahrain and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
She further noted that this achievement is the result of the support of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
Her Excellency Dr Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa expressed her pride in the outstanding performances and dedication demonstrated by Bahrain’s female athletes, which resulted in this medal haul, wishing them continued success. She also commended the efforts of the delegation’s administrative staff and the technical and administrative teams of the clubs, thanking them for their distinguished work.
The athletes’ honour roll at the Games included:
- Moza Abdulraheem, Qamar Ali and Badria Al Atawi – gold, shooting (10m pistol team)
- Safa Al Doseri – gold, shooting (10m rifle individual)
- Safa Al Doseri, Nouf Al Doseri and Marwa Al Ameri – gold, shooting (10m rifle team)
- Fatima Kalawadh – gold, taekwondo (under 49kg)
- Hanan Al Sheroogui – silver, taekwondo (under 57kg)
- Retaj Arroud, Sumaya Al Buainain, Noor Hasan and Fatima Zaman – silver, fencing (foil team)
- Sara Jallab – bronze, taekwondo (under 69kg)
- Qamar Ali – bronze, shooting (10m pistol individual)
- Retaj Arroud– bronze, fencing (foil individual)
