His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, attended the FIFA World Cup 2026 match between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Spain on Sunday, 21 June 2026, at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in response to an official invitation extended by the Embassy to watch the match.
The event was attended by His Excellency Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as a number of Their Highnesses, Excellencies and distinguished guests.
Upon arrival, His Highness was received by the Ambassador, a number of Embassy officials and members of the diplomatic corps, in addition to invited guests.
On the occasion, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa said: “We were pleased to accept the invitation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attend this FIFA World Cup 2026 match. We appreciate the efforts undertaken by the Embassy to strengthen social and sporting ties between our two brotherly countries.”
He added: “Bahraini-Saudi relations represent a longstanding model of brotherhood and cooperation across various fields. Sport serves as one of the important bridges that strengthen these relations and promote the values of closeness and mutual understanding between peoples.”
At the conclusion of the visit, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa expressed his best wishes to the Saudi national team for the remainder of its FIFA World Cup campaign, hoping it will continue to deliver performances that reflect the development of Saudi football and its standing on the international stage.
