Seef District - Bahrain Olympic Committee:
The Bahrain Olympic Committee welcomed the triumphant return of the mixed martial arts team, adorned with three gold and silver medals from the recently concluded World Championships in Albania. The reception, held on Monday morning, November 27, 2023, at Bahrain International Airport, was graced by the presence of Hisham Al Balushi, Director of the Sports Federations Department, who presented the champions with flowers.
The outstanding achievements included Qambat Mammadov securing gold in the junior category (77.1 kg), Gazi Gaziev claiming gold in the general category (93.9 kg), and Sultan Gabyzov clinching gold in the same category with a weight of 120 kg. Additionally, Muhammad Shikhov earned a well-deserved silver medal in the same category but with a weight of 52.2 kg.
The collective excellence of the mixed martial arts team propelled the Kingdom of Bahrain to an impressive third-place ranking in the overall standings for the General category.
