Seef District - Bahrain Olympic Committee:

Under the visionary directives of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the Bahrain youth volleyball team is set to receive significant support. This initiative is part of the broader "Making Champions" program, aimed at nurturing promising sports talents across the nation. The volleyball team, in particular, is gearing up for an intensive training camp to prepare for their upcoming challenge at the first Gulf Youth Games hosted by the United Arab Emirates from April 16 to May 2, 2024.

The "Making Champions" program, which has already benefitted six sports federations, including the Volleyball Federation, seeks to bolster the teams and athletes poised for success on the regional stage. The youth volleyball team, fresh from clinching the West Asian Youth Championship title in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 2023, is among the top contenders for the gold medal in the upcoming Gulf Youth Games.

On this notable occasion, His Excellency Major General Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Volleyball Federation, extended his profound gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for spearheading the "Making Champions" initiative. This program, which stands as a testament to the Olympic Committee's commitment to supporting team sports and individual excellence, is crucial for the development of Bahrain's sporting landscape.

His Excellency also acknowledged the diligent efforts and oversight of the Secretary-General of the Olympic Committee, His Excellency Mr. Fares Mustafa Al-Kooheji, in executing this program. By carefully selecting teams that showcase promising potential and exemplify the spirit of honourable representation, the program aims to elevate Bahrain's status in the competitive sports arena.

Major General Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa emphasized the importance of this support in enhancing the youth team's competitive edge and fostering an optimal training environment. With hopes high, the federation anticipates that the young athletes will rise to the occasion, reflecting the spirit and ambition of Bahrain's sports community.
