His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, received Mr Witold Bańka, President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), during his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting was held in the presence of His Excellency Mr Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and Mr Ahmed Abdul Ghaffar, Executive Director of Operations.
His Highness welcomed Mr. Bańka and conveyed the greetings of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. He praised WADA’s efforts in combating doping and in promoting integrity and fairness in sport globally.
Shaikh Isa bin Ali reaffirmed the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s commitment to fostering strong collaboration with WADA, and to full adherence to international standards and regulations, underscoring the Kingdom’s efforts in anti-doping, particularly following the establishment and independence of the Bahrain National Anti-Doping Organisation (B-NADO).
For his part, Mr Witold Bańka expressed his sincere appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa for the warm welcome. He commended Bahrain’s leading role in supporting anti-doping efforts and its commitment to advancing the legal and regulatory framework to ensure clean and safe sport.
