
Seef District - Bahrain Olympic Academy:
In implementation of the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Excellency Mr Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, received Captain Waleed Al-Alawi, Chairman of the Royal Golf Club, to discuss the preliminary steps for establishing a specialised Golf Academy.
The planned academy aims to identify, nurture, and develop emerging golf talents, preparing them to compete in regional and international championships, in line with His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad’s vision to advance various sports disciplines across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Al Kooheji welcomed the Royal Golf Club delegation, praising the strong cooperation between both sides. He affirmed that the establishment of the Golf Academy represents a strategic step toward preparing a new generation of golfers capable of representing Bahrain at major international events. He added that the Bahrain Olympic Committee places great importance on golf, recognising its growing popularity both in Bahrain and throughout the region.
For his part, Captain Waleed Al-Alawi expressed his appreciation for the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to establish the academy, and extended his gratitude to the Bahrain Olympic Committee for its continued support and fruitful collaboration with the Royal Golf Club. He noted that the Golf Academy will play a key role in building a solid foundation for the sport and enhancing Bahrain’s presence on the global golfing stage.
