His Excellency Mr. Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Media Committee at the Olympic Council of Asia, attended the official opening of the Main Media Centre at the Sanya Jinghai International Holiday Hotel, in the presence of several officials from the organizing committee of the 6th Asian Beach Games, which will be held in Sanya, China, from 22 to 30 April.

The ceremony was attended by officials from the organising committee and began with a cultural performance, followed by a speech by Mr. Al-Kooheji, in which he expressed his pleasure at being in Sanya, a city known for its sun, sea and sand.

He said: “On behalf the Media Committee at the Olympic Council of Asia, I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Sanya Government, the organizing committee, and everyone who contributed to making this media Centre a reality for all media professionals. 

To the journalists, photographers and broadcasters, and all those contributing to the coverage of these Games, through your lenses, voices and words, these Games will reach audiences around the world, carrying with them the spirit of sport, the essence of beach culture, and the warmth of the city of Sanya.”

He continued: “Athletes from across Asia will give their very best under the sun of Sanya, and you will be here to capture every effort and every moment. Through your work, the world will witness not only the competitions, but also the spirit of openness, vitality and hospitality that define Sanya.

I wish you a productive and successful stay, and hope that this media Centre will serve as a platform for collaboration, excellence and professional media output.”

Following the ceremony, His Excellency Mr. Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji conducted a field tour of the Main Media Centre, the broadcast Centre and other facilities, where he was briefed in detail on the full range of media services provided. He concluded by wishing all media representatives success in their work.
