
The Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance Sports Field Committee held a coordination meeting with the Bahrain Padel Federation to explore avenues for advancing padel and enhancing women's participation in the sport throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting, held at the Committee’s headquarters, addressed the current status of padel in Bahrain, identifying key challenges and obstacles hindering its growth. Participants also discussed practical proposals and solutions aimed at raising the technical and organisational standards of women’s competitions, while expanding female participation at all levels.
The discussion emphasised the importance of joint cooperation among relevant stakeholders to ensure a safe and motivating sports environment that supports the empowerment of Bahraini women in sport.
Attending on behalf of the Committee were Salama Mohammed Atiq and Wafa Ibrahim Al Jazzaf, while the Bahrain Padel Federation was represented by Mr Isa Ishaq, Board Member and Chairman of the National Teams Committee.
During the meeting, the Committee reaffirmed its commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at achieving gender balance in sports, stressing the importance of ongoing collaboration with national sports federations to implement relevant plans and initiatives effectively.
