Bahrain’s national youth basketball team received a warm welcome organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee upon their arrival home on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, following their crowning as champions of the Arab Championship, which recently concluded in the Republic of Tunisia. The achievement marks another milestone for Bahraini sport and reflects the continued development of basketball in the Kingdom.

Leading the reception for the champions at Bahrain International Airport was Bahrain Basketball Association Vice President Nader Al-Awadhi, alongside Secretary General Abed Al-Ansari and Board Member and Treasurer Mohamed Abdul Samad, in the presence of Bahrain Olympic Committee Technical Affairs Director Madan Al-Wanas.

The Arab champions were welcomed with flowers upon arrival in recognition of their outstanding achievement and the impressive performances they delivered throughout the tournament. The team demonstrated strong fighting spirit, high discipline and determination to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain in the best possible way, returning with the Arab title in a well-deserved triumph and adding a new achievement to Bahraini basketball, which continues to serve as a distinguished representation of national sport amid its clear progress across all levels.

The players expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Bahrain Olympic Committee for organising the reception, while praising the efforts of the Bahrain Basketball Association Board of Directors and its commitment to supporting the players, which played a significant role in achieving this success.
