The Bahrain Olympic Committee participated in the 45th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), held in the sisterly State of Kuwait on 11–12 May.

The committee was represented by Fajer Jassim, Member of the Board of Directors and Director of the Arab and International Relations Department; Yusuf Duaij, Chairman of the Executive Committee for the 3rd Asian Youth Games; and Mohamed Albalooshi, Director of Coordination and Follow-up.

During the session, Yusuf Duaij delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining Bahrain’s preparations to host the 3rd Asian Youth Games, scheduled to take place from 22 to 31 October 2025. His presentation highlighted the Kingdom’s readiness to deliver a successful edition of the Games, underscoring Bahrain’s commitment to upholding the Olympic values and delivering an exceptional experience for all participating nations.

The Assembly’s agenda included the approval of the minutes from the 44th General Assembly, which was held in India on 8 September 2024, followed by reports from the five OCA zones: West Asia, Central Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.

Additional sessions included progress reports on major OCA events, such as the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023, the Harbin Asian Winter Games 2024, as well as presentations on preparations for upcoming editions, including Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 (Japan) and the Saudi-hosted Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2026.

The agenda also featured presentations from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Olympic Solidarity Commission, in addition to a series of reports from the OCA’s specialised committees, including: the Advisory Committee, Athletes’ Committee, Culture Committee, Education Committee, Esports Committee, Ethics Committee, Finance Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, Gender Equity Committee, International Relations Committee, Information and Statistics Committee, Legal Committee, Media Committee, Medical Committee, Asian Games Committee, Peace Through Sport Committee, Sport and Environment Committee, and Sports for All Committee.
