Bahrain Ultra Trail Runners Team Participates in the Mozart 100 International Race

With the support of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the Ultra Trail Runners Bahrain team is proudly participating in the Mozart 100 by UTMB, an esteemed international event in the sport of mountain running (ultra trail). Held annually in the picturesque city of Salzburg, Austria, the Mozart 100 presents a grueling challenge for runners from across the globe.

 

The Bahrain team comprises elite athletes passionate about mountain running and long-distance marathons. The core team members include Hamad Mattar, Ahmed Kamal, Mohammad Zaman, Jassim Al Bastaki, and Amer Ibrahim, alongside others such as Saeed Al Thabit, Adam Jamal, and Hasanain Merhoun, each competing in various race categories of the Mozart 100.

 

The Bahrain Ultra Trail Runners (BUTR) is a community team made up of enthusiastic Bahraini athletes dedicated to endurance sports and mountain running. Representing the Kingdom of Bahrain, the team has competed in numerous prestigious international events, including several races in the UTMB World Series. The team continually strives to showcase Bahrain’s spirit of resilience and determination on the global stage.

 

The Mozart 100 by UTMB is a renowned international event in the mountain running sport, held annually in Salzburg, Austria. The race is known for its high level of difficulty and its rugged mountainous terrain. The 2025 race features a 120-kilometer route with over 5,800 meters of vertical climb, offering a true test of endurance and strength, even for professional runners.

 

Organized by the UTMB World Series team, which oversees some of the most challenging and prestigious mountain races worldwide, including those in the Andes, the Alps, and the Himalayas, the Mozart 100 serves as an official qualifier for the globally renowned UTMB Mont-Blanc in Chamonix, France. This year’s event will host over 2,500 athletes from various parts of the world, competing in a spirit of competition, determination, and mental and physical resilience.

 

With each race, the Bahrain Ultra Trail Runners team continues to raise the bar, proudly representing Bahrain in the world of endurance sports and reinforcing the Kingdom's commitment to athletic excellence.
