?Tunisian Sports Physician Dr Saida Ayachi, who is on a short visit to Bahrain at the invitation of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), recently made a presentation to members of the Bahrain National Sport Medicine Centre on Tunisia’s experience in the field of sport medicine.
Saida, who was in Bahrain along with other high-ranking officials from Tunisia’s Youth and Sports Ministry, is from the National Observatory for Sport, and the National Centre for Medicine and Sports Sciences.
Witnessed by BOC Associations Affairs Executive Director Jehad Khalfan, Bahrain National Sport Medicine Centre Director Khalid Al Shaikh, BOC’s Anti-Doping Committee chairman Dr Hussain Al Haddad and other representatives from the centre, the presentation started with Saida giving a briefing on the foundation of the Tunisian centre and stages of development.
She also informed them on the tasks, visions and objectives of the centre, as well as its structure and available branches spread across different governorates of Tunisia.
Saida said that the center has a medical clinic, physiological tests unit and physiotherapy unit, in addition to other medical services, as well as units for the nutritional sciences of sport, sport psychology, measuring physical abilities, and finally module programming.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the BOC expressed their admiration for the advanced level of the National Centre for Medicine and Sports Sciences in the Republic of Tunisia, and stressed the need to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation in the field of sports medicine between the two countries to serve the common goals of both parties.
