?The third module of the National Federation Management Programme for General Secretaries and Executive Directors got underway yesterday (JUNE 16) at the Royal Golf Club premises in Riffa.
Being organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Sports Training and Development Section, the five-day workshop brings 25 sports officials from different sports federations, with the remaining sessions set to take place at the section premises at Manama Club in Juffair.
The programme has been developed by the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) to answer the specific training needs that National Sporting Federation Managers face.
It’s split into three modules, each of five days duration. The first module topic is strategy, national and international stake holder identification and management.
The remaining two topics are defining and connecting the athlete path way to federation operations, as well as federation commercial, event operations and integrated planning and measurement.
Consultation with the Bahrain Olympic Committee has  led to agreement on the dissemination of standardized best practice through this programme while will lead to greater success and sustainability across the National Sporting Federations.
Participants would achieve several benefits from attending the programme, such as developing management skills specific to their sporting organization.
Other gains is understanding how the Olympic Committee can support the administration of National Federations through standardized process and requirements, besides learning the management principles required to successfully manage the athlete pathway in their sport.
