?Representatives from the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Technical Directorate made a series of field visits to six sports associations – football, athletics, volleyball, handball, basketball and fencing, and met with their national teams’ technical managers.
Lounes Madene said these visits aimed to deepen communication with sports associations and to looking into the plans and programs as well as presenting useful Olympic Solidarity programmes.
Madene said that during the visit, they looked into the short and medium-terms strategies and technical plans, in addition to the procedures undertaken by the technical teams to prepare its national teams for various competitions in 2014.
Madene noted that the technical directorate has provided each association details on the Olympic Solidarity programmes and ways to benefit from them in order to prepare their respective athletes for next year’s Asian Games in Incheon, and the Olympic programme which aims to prepare the athletes for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
In regards to  the Olympic Solidarity programme, Madene said his directorate has discussed with the associations the possibility of organizing training sessions for coaches in Bahrain in coordination with the international federations and the International Olympic Committee after getting the approval of the BOC, in addition to sending some of the technical staff of famous world universities in the field of sports training, and attracting some well-known international coaches to benefit from their expertise in the technical refinement of national coaches and athletes.
Madene showed relief for these field visits, which were met with great satisfaction and interaction of the technical teams at the national associations, which in turn expressed delight for such productive meetings contributing to the development of technical cadres that would have positive influence on Bahrain sport.
Other technical directorate representatives were executive coordinator Mamoon Al Khateeb and international relations specialist Maryam Mardana.
