?Dr. Sawsan Taqwi, President of the Bahrain and Arab Badminton and Squash Federations, said that Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa winning the medal of scientific excellence reaffirms the high prestige and appreciation of His Highness for his outstanding contributions to promoting sports, his efforts in supporting scientific research in the field of sports, and encouraging scientists and researchers to conduct researches.
Shaikh Nasser, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, received the medal from British Scientific Council and the Academy of Scientific Research & Training at the second edition of the awards night recently.
Taqawi said Shaikh Nasser’s award win is a culmination of his distinguished initiatives in this field, the most significant of which is Shaikh Nasser Award for Scientific Research in the field of sports, which was a great success.
She added that this particular award aims to promote sports in Bahrain and in the Arab world, in general, and praised the directives of His Highness to expand the award to become eligible for all Arab researchers in order to give benefit for the region nations.
Taqawi stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is proud of Shaikh Nasser, a true leader and an athlete who dedicated himself to serve sports and to be an ideal model for young people.
“His Highness has made a clear mark in the youth and sports sector, which witnessed a great boom in this reign, but his ambitions have no limits, His Highness’s initiatives are still ongoing, his support to scientific researches and the launch of a Estijabah ‘Response’ programme is the best proof of His Highness’s keenness to achieve honorable achievements for this country to show a great image of our dear kingdom,” said Taqawi.
