?Bahrain’s national table tennis team had another amazing impact winning five medals in total (1 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze) at the West Asian Championship, which concluded recently in Amman, Jordan.
The team was given a special welcome reception at Bahrain International Airport by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar and other high-ranking sports officials.
Askar conveyed the congratulations of representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the team and his best wishes for them in future competitions.
Askar commended the results of the Bahraini nationals in this major continental table tennis championship, which reflects the advanced level of the game in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
A delegation from the Bahrain Table Tennis Association (BTTA), led by board member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the BOC and association president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, vice-president Ali Al Madeh and board members, were also at the reception of the Bahrain heroes. 
Shaikha Hayat also congratulated members of the team upon arrival, and noted the tremendous performance of the players at the championship as well as the efforts of the administrative and technical teams, which played a major part in the achievement.
