?The first module of the Postgraduate Certificate in Sports Management, organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Sports Training and Development Section, got underway on April 6 in Juffair.
Organised in cooperation with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), the course will continue until April 17 and is designed to equip students with the tools and skills to excel in this burgeoning industry sector.
Students make several benefits from successful completion of the programme, such as gaining new insights into what they can achieve as inspiration sport leaders. They can also acquire an enhanced ability to build high quality relationship with key internal and external stake holders.
They also interact with world-class faculty and gain from their knowledge and idea, as well as being a flexible residential workshop based programme schedule that fits with the demands of work.
Topics covered in the programme include finance and accounting, marketing and brand building strategic planning, even management, legacy of major events, human resource management, management of high performance porgrammes, broadcast and social media, and sponsorship.
Meanwhile, registration is still open for a series of sport management courses, set to take place later this year. These courses are part of the BOC annual plan aimed to prepare and qualify administrative cadres in different sports associations and organisations.
There are three courses scheduled to take place third year in cooperation with the WAoS. Tipping off this year’s activities will be the Introduction of Sport Management Programme, due to be held from May 4 to 8.
It will be followed by two parts of the Sport Management Programme, the first of which will take place from May 12 to 15, while the second is from June 8 to 12.
The section is also holding the first part of the National Federation Management Diploma  from October 27 to 30, to be followed by the second part of the same programme from December 7 to 11.
