National sports federations recently received their respective insurance policies as per an agreement signed between the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and T’azur Insurance Company.
BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar presented the company’s insurance cards to representatives of each sports federation at the committee premises in Seef.
The gesture is an initiative of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman and BOC president.
This first-of-its-kind plan aims to provide best medical treatment for injured national team athletes and international referees to help them recover and return into action.
BOC Sports Affairs executive director Abduljalil Asad said he was pleased for the cooperation from the sports federations in handing over the insurance cards to the athletes and referees in time.
He noted that the insurance policy only covers field injuries and that the treatment should be done inside the Kingdom of Bahrain.
