?Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar will attend an open sports programme commencing today (Wednesday).
The first day of this multi-training programme event, which tips off at 4pm at Dohat Arad in Muharraq walkway, is part of the BOC annual plan to hold a string of sporting and social activities for the public.
It’s also in line with the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and committee President, in an attempt to involve all segments of the Bahrain society in various sports activities.
Other events will be hosted by Al Fateh Corniche in Manama, Al Istiqlal Walkway in Sanad, Grand Khalifa Park in Riffa, Budaiya Walkway and A’ali Walkway between 4pm and 6pm on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays.
A number of men and women coaches, specialized in sports training, will be present at all of Bahrain’s four governorates to supervise those taking part in this walkathon event.
Programme coordinator Salha Al Rumaihi, sports specialist at the BOC, said those coaches will provide assistance to the athletes attending the event and present advises to them in regards to this particular sport.
Al Rumaihi extended her appreciation to all the partners, ministries, governorates and coaches for their efforts in bringing this first-of-its-kind gathering to Bahrain.
