?The third workshop for the Sports Associations Management Diploma, organized by the Sports Training and Development Section under the Bahrain Olympic Committee umbrella, concluded recently.
Held at the Sports Training and Development Section premises in Juffair, the four-day workshop was organized in cooperation with the World Academy of Sport.
It was part of the annual plan of the section, aimed to qualify administrators at sports associations and bodies.
The workshop was presented by Chris Solly, Gordon Mandry and Michael Cary from the World Academy of Sport. The participants underwent the final exams at the end of the workshop.
It discussed a number of topics, the most important of which covered financial and accounting studies, operations management, marketing and branding, strategic planning, event management, the impact of major events, human resources management, sports programs management, social media, television and radio broadcasting.
Some of the objectives is to provide the participants with the leadership characteristics in the field of sport, and prepare them to obtain leading posts in their respective organisations.
Meanwhile, more than 30 coaches from different sports clubs and national associations from Bahrain and the GCC will be taking part in a level 1 National Coaching Programme course, scheduled to take place from February 1 to 7.
Teaching theories will be applied through education, in addition to using modern methods in explaining and applying certain issues by a group of accredited instructors national at the National Coaching Programme.
Some of the subjects to be presented in this course include training planning, the trainer tasks, injuries prevention, skills analysis, physical preparation and skills development. The participants will undergo exams at the end of the course.
