?The third workshop for the Sports Associations Management Diploma, organized by the Sports Training and Development Section under the Bahrain Olympic Committee umbrella, got underway yesterday.
Taking place at the Sports Training and Development Section premises in Juffair, the four-day workshop is organized in cooperation with the World Academy of Sport and is part of the annual plan of the section aimed to qualify administrators at sports associations and bodies.
Chris Solly, Gordon Mandry and Michael Cary from the World Academy of Sport are presenting the workshop, at the end of which the participants will undergo the final exams.
Some of the main objectives of this event is to provide the participants with the leadership characteristics in the field of sport, and prepare them to obtain leading posts in their respective organisations.
Other goals include learning ways of dealing with sport related bodies and individuals, creating a communication network with the international sport community, introducing different point of views in regards to latest developments in the sports arena, in addition to communicating with veteran instructors and learn from their expertise in various areas.
The program brings up a number of topics, the most important of which cover financial and accounting studies, operations management, marketing and branding, strategic planning, event management, the impact of major events, human resources management, sports programs management, social media, television and radio broadcasting.
