?Supreme Council for Youth and Sports general secretary and chairman of the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports’ board of trustees Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa highlighted the importance of such scientific researches in boosting sports development march, noting that the Bahraini sport is marching in the same direction.
This came during his meeting with members of the Technical Committee of the award at the Supreme Council premises in Seef District yesterday (AUGUST 1).
The committee includes Dr Mohammed Subhi of Egypt, Dr Sari Hamdan of Jordan, Saudi Arabia’s Dr Hazza bin Mohammed Al Hazza and Dr Ahmed Al Sharif of the UAE.
The meeting was also attended by Bahrain Olympic Committee acting general secretary, award executive office head Abdulrahman Askar, award general secretary Dr Abdulrahman Sayyar, in addition to executive office members Mohammed Lori and Dalal Salama.
Shaikh Salman conveyed the greetings of Supreme Council chairman and BOC president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his best wishes to the technical committee, noting that Bahrain is looking this award to assert its policy in regards to scientific researches for the development of sports movement in the kingdom.
On their part, members of the technical committee expressed their happiness for the confidence of the Board of Trustees and congratulated Shaikh Salman on winning the presidency of the Asian Football Confederation, which they described as a victory for the Arab sport.
They also expressed delight for working in the management of the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Award, which they considered as an continuity of the sports boom witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The committee members praised the achievements that were accomplished by the Bahraini sport at both the administrative and field levels, stressing that the echoes of this award will enhance the prestige of the Bahraini sport.
On his part, Abdulrahman Askar said he was pride to have this group of prominent Arab academics, who make up a positive addition for the award, and wished them success in their tasks.
Dr. Abdulrahman Sayar then expressed thanks and appreciation to Shaikh Salman on his eagerness to meet with members of the Technical Committee, which reflects his support to the scientific researches in general, and the award in particularly. He stressed the possibility to take advantage of the efficiency of the committee members in any scientific consultations related to the youth and sports sector.
