?Preparations are underway for the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Scientific Research Award in the Field of Sports, organsied by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar chaired the second executive office meeting with award general secretary Dr Abdulrahman Sayyar and office members Abduljalil Asad, Mohammed Lori, Ahmed Al Jar, Asma’a Al Kaabi and office Mamoon Al Khateeb.
A number of topics related to the topics preparations were discussed, such as marketing and promoting the event in its second edition to include participants from the Arab region instead of having just Bahrainis and residents as in the first edition of the award.
This edition of the award, open to participants from all Arab countries, aims at promote positive attitudes towards scientific research to create knowledge and contribute to the development of sports movement.
Other reviewed subjects were the required amendments in the award that are applicable with the current changes, as a special committee was formed to do this purpose. A draft guide will be presented in the next meeting of Executive Office to follow up this issue.
With regard to the overall budget of the award, the office members decided to submit a complete perception to the Board of Trustees for discussion at their next meeting.
As for the marketing side, a committee was elected to do a number of visits to a various bodies and institutions to create a marketing partnership for the award.
The office members also decided to hold a press conference aimed to effectively launch this prestigious award on the local and Arab levels. The timetable for the press conference will be scheduled later.
The winner in each part of the award will receive a certificate of appreciation, signed by Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of BOC Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in addition to a cash prize and commemorative gift-bearing symbol of the award.
