A seven-member committee, tasked at preparing and organising the 2015 Olympic Day, was recently formed by Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar.
This year’s Olympic Day, scheduled June 12, is organized by the BOC and is a celebration for youth around the world to observe the Olympic values of Fair Play, Perseverance, Respect and Sportsmanship.
Fajer Jassim was named head of the committee, which also includes members Lounes Madene, Hasan Abdullatif, Hamad Al Baker, Hasan Ali, Seema Al Kharraz and Ma’amon Al Khatib.
In a statement, Fajer said the committee will establish partnerships with various sports and government organisations in an attempt to have a successful event this year, with a number of activities set to take place.
Last year’s edition of the Olympic Day was held under the patronage of BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, and celebrated the International Olympic Committee three pillars – Move, Learn and Discover.
