?Bahrain Olympic Committee General Secretary Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa received at his office Bahrain national sailing team members Abdulla Janahi and Abdulrahim Abdullah, who recently returned from Italy where they attended the first phase of the Olympic sponsorship program.
The meeting was also attended by BOC Sports Affairs Executive Director Noaman bin Rashid Al Hassan and national teams director at the Bahrain Maritime Sports Association Kasem Ben Jemia.
Shaikh Ahmad was briefed on their training programme and the results in the most recent sailing competitions in which they took part, as well as a technical report prepared by Ben Jemia to evaluate the first phase of the programme.
The BOC general secretary expressed satisfaction over the preparations of the two sailors, and urged them to exert more efforts to benefit from the programme in order to improve on their performance in future competitions.
They include the 17th Asian Games in South Korea next year, the 13th Arab Games in Beirut in 2015 and the 2016 Rio de Janeiru Olympic Games.
On their part, the sailing hopefuls extended gratitude to the Bahrain Olympic Committee for their financial and moral support for maritime sports, in specific, and to all sports in general.
They stressed their keenness to benefit from this programme in order to hone their technical abilities to spearhead the Kingdom the best way in various international competitions.
It is worth mentioning that the programme, launched by the Olympic Council of Asia, for the National Olympic Committees, aims to refine young talent.
