?Eighty coaches attended first module of a level 1 National Coaching Programme course, organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) Sports Training and Development Section.
Held at the Sports Training and Development Section premises in Juffair, this double module course discussed planning training session while focusing on several points like the content, the coach personality, his leadership style and how to develop a philosophy for a coach and its influence on the team.
Other issues highlighted at this part of the course included methods of dealing and working with different age groups, in addition to the stages of growth and development that occur to individuals and physiological changes psychological, social, role and functions of the coach.
It also discussed the basis of movement sciences and the important elements in performance monitoring, analysis skills, physical setting and energy systems, in addition to mental preparations, the importance of setting goals.
The second and concluding module of the course is scheduled from October 12 to 18. In order to pass the coming course module, the participants must attend at least 90 per cent of the sessions, in addition to passing the final exam.
It’s worth noting that the Olympic Committee has bought the rights of the national program for coaches and translate it into Arabic in order to achieve the greatest benefit for the national technical staff.
