?The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) will launch its new strategy for the 2013-2017 term on May 18, committee general secretary Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa announced yesterday (APRIL 30).
The decision was revealed after the 17th meeting of the committee, which was held at its premises in Seef District, and chaired by BOC president and chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Ahmed said the meeting started with the board approving the report of its 16th meeting and declaring the date for the next General Assembly meeting of the committee, to be held on June 11.
The committee discussed arrangements for the Kingdom of Bahrain hosting the meetings of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Presidents of the GCC Olympic committees as well as the side events that are scheduled to take place from May 15 to 19.
The board also decided to launch the new logo of the BOC on the sidelines of their unveiling of the committee new strategy in a special ceremony, set to take place at the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation gym at Isa Town Sports City in Riffa.
The Bahrain delegation for the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, to be held in Incheon, in South Korea from June 29 to 6, was also finalised during this meeting.
Bahrain, finest athletes will be traveling to the far East to compete in three sporting events, namely swimming, bowling and billiards.
Shaikh Ahmed will head the Bahrain delegation, which also includes board member Abdulla Al Dossary, BOC Executive Director for Sports Affairs Noaman Al Hassan and delegation director Saud Al Ghenaim.
