?Bahrain Olympic Committee Chief Executive Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa vowed to support gymnastics in the Kingdom of Bahrain for its significant contributions being one of the Olympic Games popular sports.
Shaikh Khalid also called on activating the partnership with the Education Ministry in this regard due to the important role of school in discovering young talented gymnasts.
This came during his meeting with the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Gymnastics Association, headed by Dr. Khaled Ismail Al Alawi, in the presence of BOC General Secretary Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Khalid conveyed the greetings of BOC President and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and his keenness to support Olympic sports, including gymnastics.
The Chief Executive spoke about the future aspirations of the committee regarding this discipline, saying that they are looking forward to a new stage where development plans will be activated. He stressed the importance of work in the spirit of the ‘one family’ to achieve the aspired objectives.
On his part, Shaikh Ahmed expressed confidence in the next phase due to the efforts and keenness of the new board of directors of the association to work toward developing their programs, stressing the importance of communication and cooperation with competent authorities, particularly the Ministry of Education, as gymnastics is one of the sports that rely heavily on preparing the player at an early stage of his or her life.
Dr. Khaled Ismail Al Alawi then presented the future plans of the association and their needs, thanking Shaikh Nasser for his trust in the newly-elected members of the association, affirming that they will strive to further develop gymnastics in the kingdom.
The meeting was also attended by Vice President of the association Dr. Nader Jamali, general secretary Mohamed Al Hamidi, and board members Khalifa Al Maliki, Hassan Abdulrasool,  Abeer Abou Raad, Ibrahim Al Wasti and secretary Layla Bucheery.
