?Bahrain’s national jiu jitsu team returned home yesterday (Saturday, April 27) after taking four medals (3 gold, 1 bronze) at the recently-concluded Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Sports Federations director Hisham Al Balooshi led a team of officials in welcoming members of the delegation, headed by Bahrain Martial Arts Federation president Ahmed Al Khayyat.
Seena Monfaradi (52kg), Mohammed Abu Idris (69kg) and Nejid Algosaibi (77kg) took one gold medal apiece for Bahrain, while Sogra Mubarak (70kg) captured the bronze.
Al Balooshi congratulated the athletes on their medals and conveyed the greetings of BOC secretary general Mohammed Al Nusuf to members of the team, which reflects the advanced level of the Bahraini athletes in martial arts sports.
He affirmed the BOC’s pride for what the team has achieved in one of the region’s most prestigious jiu jitsu championships, where some of the world’s professional jiu jitu athletes were in the fray.
