Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar received at his office in seef representatives of the 17th Asian Games, to be held in Incheon, in Korea in September.
During the meeting, the 2014 Incheon Asian Games Rate Card officials Johnson Park and Ho Soung Jung made a presentation of the ‘National House’ facility, to be located near the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, and is aimed at promoting Bahrain’s culture.
This two-storey building features an exhibition hall on the ground floor, in which Bahrain’s various cultural aspects as well as popular sports in Bahrain such as the Grand Prix, equestrian sports and football will be highlighted.
Other information to be made available features some of the kingdom’s exotic cultural experience – the Bahrain boat show, henna tattoo and handcrafted artifacts exhibition.
The second floor will feature the VIP lounge, in addition to an information desk, a conference room and a quite room.
Following the presentation, Askar praised the great efforts being made by Korea in preparing for the 17th edition of the Asian Games, and expressed confidence in the country’s ability to host a successful event in all respects, particularly as it had already embraced the 10th edition which was held in the capital Seoul in 1986.
He stressed that the tremendous success of the Asian Indoor Games held in 2013 in Korea was a clear evidence of the serious preparations to host this major upcoming event, stressing the desire of the Kingdom of Bahrain to actively contribute to the success of this Asian.
The meeting was also attended by BOC technical director Lounes Madene and International Affairs director Fajer Jassim.
