?An incentive for the Bahrain athletes taking part at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games was announced yesterday by the Gulf University.
The university will be offering an in-house scholarship for any athlete winning a medal at the coming Olympics to obtain bachelor degree in all specialties worth BD14,000.
This statetement was announced after the meeting of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar with president of the Gulf University Dr Muhannad Al Mashhadani at the committee premises in Seef.
Askar welcomed this generous gesture from the university, which reflects their support to sports movement in the kingdom of Bahrain.
On his part, Al Meshhedani said the initiative is in line with the strategy of the university to support national athletes in international sports competitions, and wished all Bahrain athletes the best of luck in this major global sporting event.
