Supreme Council for Youth and Sports second deputy chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) honorary president Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa has congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa after Bahrain winning the West Asian Football Championship in Iraq.
Bahrain clinched their first-ever West Asian Football Championship after defeating hosts country Iraq 1-0 in the final match held at Karbala International Stadium on Wednesday in front of a 30,000 full-house crowd.
Shaikh Isa expressed his congratulations to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
He asserted the significant role of His Majesty’s Representative for Charity and Youth Sports, and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in this historic achievement.
Shaikh Isa also noted the continued support of SCYS first deputy chairman and BOC president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa as well as the efforts of the Bahrain Football Association, led by president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
He commended the players for their dedication and determination, which enabled them to triumph, and also noted the contributions of the team’s administrative and technical staff.
