?Five coaches have recently completed Level 4 of the National Coaching Certification Programme (NCCP), organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Sports Training and Development Section in Juffair.
This all-new first-of-its-kind level was implemented in the Middle East and presented in Bahrain in cooperation with the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC). It’s a continuation of a partnership agreement, which started in 1997.
The five coaches represent five different sports and they are Mohammed Salman (volleyball), Mohammed Bakhsh (taekwondo), Hisham Abduljalil (football), Salah Hassan (shooting) and Salman Ramadan (basketball).
These coaches presented 12 essays in total, which consisted of practical application and field visits. They were also assigned to present the annual plan to be discussed and approved by a team of academic supervisors, headed by Conrad Milne, the general supervisor of the programme.
The programme is also being conducted by Sports Training and Development Section head Nabeel Taha, in addition to Dr Hussain Jaffer and Mahmood Yateem.
Articles presented for this level include planning, sports psychology, power and physical preparation, environment and nutrition, sports Leadership, power systems, treatment and resuming activity and field visits.
The National Coaching Programme, which previously won the Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award as best sports institution in 2011, is regarded one of the finest technical programmes that aims to prepare and develop coaches in the field of sports.
