?Dr Jussi Rantanen’s medical consultations at the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s National Sports Medicine Centre concluded recently.
This visit, the fourth for the Finnish orthopedic surgeon, was part of a two-day visit to Bahrain to offer his vast experience in the field of orthopedic injuries.
Dr Rantanen , who was in Bahrain three times in 2016, had a busy day at the centre, during which he had inspected a number of athletes and non-athletes patients.
He also followed up the recovery process of East Riffa Club and international football defender Abdulla Al Haza’a, who had a surgery back in November – performed by the doctor himself – after suffering a knee meniscus tear injury.
Following the inspection, Al Haza’a was given the green light by Dr Rantanen to make his long-waiting return to football as he completed his two-month physiotherapy programme at the centre.
Rantanen has been an orthopedic surgeon since 1998 and is a founder of a hospital in Finland six years ago and is still chairman of the board.
This initiative is in line with the National Sports Medicine Centre plan to offer the best quality medical treatment services for both athletes and ordinary people.
