?The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has named its delegation officials for the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and Palemgang.
The games, which is organized in Jakarta for the second time, will run from August 18 to September2 with 45 National Olympic Committees are expected attend sending around 15,000 athletes and team officials.
Although the sports programme has to be confirmed, it is expected to feature 28 Olympic sports and six non-Olympic sports. Organisers are preparing to recruit 5,000 volunteers to ensure the smooth running of event and predict 7,000 media officials will attend.
Bahrain’s administration team to the games was declared at the committee meeting, chaired by BOC secretary general Abdulrahman Askar.
BOC board member Bader Nasser was named delegation manager, with Ali Yasine as deputy manager.
Other delegation officials include Olympic Solidarity director Maryam Mardana, treasurer Yaqoub Abdulmohsin, international affairs specialist Hasan Abdulrahim, media members Hasan Ali, Mohamed Al Rumaili, Ali Al Halwachi and physician Dr Francisco Chapman.
Askar addresses the chosen members and urged them to put in their best efforts in order to make this experience at the games a very successful one for the Kingdom, and wished them all the best.
