?Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar met his Jordanian counterpart Lana Al Jaghbeer in Amman on the sidelines of the GCC National Olympic Committees’ general secretaries meeting.
Askar’s meeting was part of a historic summit, in which discussions on Jordan, Yemen and Morocco joining the GCC sports system took place.
During his meeting, Askar conveyed the greetings of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Supreme Council general secretary Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa to Al Jaghbeer, commending the strong ties between Bahrain and Jordan at all levels.
Both Askar and Al Jaghbeer discussed means of stringing cooperation between the two committees and benefiting from the Jordanian experiences in setting up bylaws, financial regulations and sports federations evaluation.
Askar also lauded the noticeable development of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), headed by Prince Faisal Ibn Al Hussain in this field due to the qualified cadres and academic expertise  enjoyed by the Jordanians.
The BOC acting general secretary  affirmed his committee’s willingness to open new horizons of cooperation and coordination in order to serve common interests, and contribute to the development of the sports movement in both countries.
He expressed thanks and appreciation to the JOC for the warm reception and great hospitality offered during his visit to Jordan, wishing to hold further joint meetings to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two parties.
On her part, Al Jaghbeer expressed full readiness for cooperation and coordination with the Bahraini side, and affirmed her keenness to build bridges of communication with all national Olympic Committees in general.
