?The Kingdom of Bahrain has won full mark at the recently-concluded 2014 Brazilian School Youth Games for successfully hosting the Mini Olympics last year in April. The Games took place from November 6 to 12 in Joao Pessoa in Paraiba.

During his visit, Bahrain Olympic Committee Technical Directorate Senior Specialist Fadi Humaidan made a presentation in front of 28 other delegations on Bahrain’s success in organizing the Mini Olympics, which involved young athletes from government schools.

Countries attending the meeting held on the sidelines of the Games include Mexico, Peru, Macedonia, Croatia, Cyprus, Chile, Costa Rica, Bhutan, Trinidad and Tobago, and Antigua and Barbuda.

The participants then made a series of visits to the Brazilian School Olympics, which featured competitions in futsal, handball, basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball, cycling, table tennis, wrestling and judo, gymnastics, swimming and athletics.

Humaidan said he was pleased with the marks given to Bahrain, which he attributed to the tremendous efforts exerted by the Bahrain Olympic Committee and its president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to develop sports in Bahrain at all levels.

Humaidan noted that his trip to Brazil was beneficial and enabled him to look up close at the advanced Brazilian expertise in this area, as well as the sport system in Brazil, especially in regards to sport activities management, which can be used and applied in Bahrain.
