?Bahrain’s dream of a podium finish in the handball competition at the Second Asian Youth Games, being held in Nanjing, in China, were vanished yesterday (AUGUST 21).
A heartbreaking 32-36  defeat tournament’s No. 1 Korea in the semi-final match put an end to Bahrain’s under-17 handball team medal hopes. The Bahrainis were also trailing 11-19 at the break in a one-sided game at the Nanjing University of Technology Gymnasium.

In the same men’s 200m event, Mohammed Al Ghool could do little as he faced tougher competition from some of Asia’s best rising athletes. He completed the in the fourth heat in 23.94 seconds.
The remaining Bahrainis were unable to advance in their respective competitions, but had improved on their personal best in three different contests.
Zaynab Abdulhussain and Sara Al Ghais, who made early exists in the women’s 100m run, were unable to qualify from their respective 200m heats, but left the track with pride as they set new personal records.
Zaynab completed the fourth heat in sixth position with a personal best of 26.93 seconds, while Sara clocked 29.52 seconds to finish sixth in the second heat.
Bahrain were also in action on the concluding day of fencing, as three players – Hamad Al Atawi, Fadwah Al Motawa and Rawan Ebrahim all crashed out in the two different events.
