HomeAthletes’ Rights and Well-being

The BOC places the highest priority on protecting the rights, health and well-being of the Kingdom’s athletes. All stakeholders in Bahrain’s sports environment – including athletes, managers, coaches and trainers; together with medical, technical and administrative staff – should download and acquaint themselves with the following important documents:

In addition, to avoid violations of the BOC Anti-Doping Rules, athletes and their physicians should obtain permission from the Bahrain-NADO for the use of prohibited substances that are necessary to treat certain medical conditions, by downloading, completing and submitting the following form:

The educational activities of the Bahrain-NADO include preventive efforts to inform and educate both elite and amateur athletes of the disastrous health consequences of doping. In this respect, athletes will find it helpful to download the following documents:

  • WADA Dangers of Doping
  • WADA At-a-Glance: About Anti-Doping
  • WADA At-a-Glance: Athlete Whereabouts

WADA also offers an Anti-Doping e-Learning platform (ADeL) which provides access to all topics related to clean sports and anti-doping. It offers online courses for athletes, coaches, doctors, administrators and anyone interested in learning more about anti-doping and protecting the values of clean sport.
