The Assistant secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and general secretary of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, hailed achievement made by the Bahrain Maritime Sports Association’s (BMSA) sailing team members who, he said, always came through on a distinguished posts in their outside participations which is a source of pride for all in Bahrain.
This came as Askar received the BMSA delegation headed by BMSA vice-president, Noman Rashid Al-Hassan after clinching two gold medals and one bronze medal in the Arab Sailing Championship hosted by the Abu Dhabi last week.
He conveyed greetings of representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the SCYS, President of BOC Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as well as his wishes for continuous success.
Askar assured that this regional achievement is an addition to the series of achievements of the BMSA’s sailing team in many outside participations which reflects the administrative success of this association presided by Shikh Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and board members. This, Askar added, also reflects BMSA’s technical stability led by Arab coach Qasim Ben all who could be a good base for the game.
At the end of the meeting, Askar congratulated team members on their achievement stressing that the BOC has always been supportive to all outstanding sports figures in order to keep their earnings and to encourage for more achievements in future.
Bahrain sailing team won three medals in this event as Abdulla Janahi clinched the gold medal of the Laser Standard category; his colleague Abdulrahim Abdullah achieved the bronze medal of the same category, while Dawood Abdulla won the gold medal of the laser Riedel category.
