The Assistant secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and general secretary of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, yesterday received a group of national coaches who will supervise the “We would join your training” program which is scheduled to start in the first week of January next January in a number of public walkways in the kingdom. The program comes in line with the goals of the BOC to spread sports awareness in the local community and establish it to become a way of life that contributes to more health awareness in the community.
At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by the general programs supervisor at the BOC, Saleha Al-Rumaihi, Askar welcomed the coaches and thanked them for their contribution to this program to serve the Bahraini community and for spreading sports awareness among its members. Askar stressed that all BOC officials led by representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the SCYS, President of BOC Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, pay great attention to such programs, expressing confidence in the efficiency and ability of Bahraini coaches to innovation and excellence. He pointed out the importance of guidance and counseling in this field so that anyone who engages in any type of sports activity to be fully aware of its ways and methods of practice to ensure safety and make the most of benefit.
At the end of the meeting, Askar wished the coaches all success in performing their mission stressing the full readiness of the BOC to meet all their needs that make it easier to do their job to the fullest, especially that this program will be ongoing throughout the year.
For its part, Al-Rumaihi expressed her thanks and appreciation to the BOC for the attention given to this program and its support. She also offered thanks to the coaches and trainers who contributed a great deal in the success of this social sports program and wishing that all these efforts to be crowned with success. She called upon all those who wish to join, citizens and residents, to participate actively and benefit from the advantages available to them through this program.
