The Assistant secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and general secretary of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, assured that the “Institutional Innovation Award Among Civil Institutions” award won by the BOC during the sports media awards ceremony for 2016 organized by the sports media committee at the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) was a new proof of the prestigious and the outstanding position of the BOC which receives a continuous support of the representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the SCYS, President of BOC Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Askar added that the award is a continuation of the BOC’s award harvest from regional, continental and international bodies and, he said, was the fruitful result of its president as well as members of its board of directors’ and employees’ effort and dedication to reach this prestigious position reflected in the sports and administrative achievements and successes made over the past years in general and 2016 in particular.
Askar hailed the initiative of the Sports Media Committee for honoring a number of athletes, government and private institutions. He described it as a distinctive initiative for the goals it carries like giving motive and appreciation, highlighting achievements that contributed to raise Bahrain’s flag high in various international events.
Askar congratulated all honored athletes praising their dedication, hoping that these awards will be a motive to double their efforts to make more achievements and successes in the world of sports, wishing the sports media committee and the BJA more success in order in serving the Kingdom of Bahrain.
