?Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation president Sawsan Taqawi was congratulated on winning presidency of the Arab Badminton Federation (ABF).
Taqawi was declared an unprecedented president for a four-year-term during the ABF General Assembly held recently at Hani Royal Suite in Juffair, and was chaired by outgoing vice-president Omar Bilali of Morocco.
In an official statement, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar said that Taqawi’s victory reflects her respected reputation and high level of competency in the field of sport administration for being one of the leading Bahraini women in sport.
Askar noted that her winning the presidency post will have a positive influence on women’s sport in Bahrain, and wished her success.
