?Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar paid tribute to Dr Jussi Rantanen for offering his vast experience in the field of medial consultation and surgeries during his recent visit to Bahrain.
The Finnish orthopedic surgeon spent a busy two days at the BOC’s National Sports Medicine Centre, where he had made appointments and conducted orthopedic surgeries for athletic and non-athletics patients.
Askar paid Dr Rantanen a visit at the centre premises at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, where he looked into the services being provided at this high-tech facility and means to further develop sports medicine at the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The BOC general secretary also met National Sports Medicine Centre director Dr Khalid Al Shaikh and discussed relevant issues in addition to the recent steps made by the centre to boost its services to higher levels.
Askar noted that Dr Rantanen’s visit was part of the National Sports Medicine Centre plan to offer the best quality medical treatment services for both athletes and ordinary people.
This is the third visit for Dr Rantanen to Bahrain this year, having been at the centre June and August, but this time the number of patients who booked for appointments with the surgeon has reached beyond expectations.
Dr Rantanen has been an orthopedic surgeon since 1998 and is a founder of a hospital in Finland six years ago and is still chairman of the board.
